Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman refused to entertain hearsay claiming he might be stripped off his Terengganu Menteri Besar post.
He said he has no interest in entertaining such affairs, instead giving his focus to the duties and responsibilities entrusted to him.
“There is no issue right now. We are moving forward. Whatever people want to say, let them. We have no time to entertain such things because it doesn’t benefit the people,” he said.
Previously, his predecessor and Kijal assemblyman, Datuk Ahmad Said, had reportedly said Ahmad Razif was counting the days before he would be removed as MB.
“He (Ahmad) had said that I was counting my days. That’s up to him, that’s his interpretation. We will continue to work with the current line of Exco leaders,” Ahmad Razif told reporters when met at an event at Wisma Darul Iman here today.
Last week, a local daily had reported Ahmad as saying that he had informed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to seek an audience with Terengganu’s Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, requesting for the menteri besar to be removed.
He had also reportedly alleged that Ahmad Razif was part of a purported conspiracy to topple him as menteri besar two years ago.
On March 8, Ahmad had tabled a vote of no confidence against Ahmad Razif at the State Assembly sitting, but it was rejected by Terengganu State Assembly Speaker Datuk Mohd Zubir Embong.
