Langkawi Wanita UMNO division member Anina Saaduddin’s action of filing a suit against Datuk Seri Najib Razak was made strictly on personal grounds and did not represent the wing.
Wanita UMNO chief, Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said in fact, Anina’s action went against party rules.
“Her action clearly violates Item 20.7 of the UMNO Constitution which states that members who bring their party or membership issues to court without abiding by party rules will be stripped off their membership.
“Anina does not represent the voice of Wanita UMNO in the whole country,” she said in a statement today.
Shahrizat added that Wanita UMNO firmly support Najib as UMNO president and the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Yesterday, Anina filed a suit against Najib at the KL High Court.
In her suit, Anina wants Najib to explain the political donations amounting to RM2.6 billion he had received in his personal account.
She claimed her action was in the interest of UMNO members and the people of Malaysia.
She said she was not afraid of whatever action the party might take on her.
