Azhar Abdul Shukur is Pakatan Harapan candidate in Sungai Besar

Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) tonight named Azhar Abdul Shukur, a religious teacher and entrepreneur, as the Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Sungai Besar parliamentary by-election.
The decision was announced by Amanah President Mohamad Sabu in a function at the Dewan Sri Sekinchan here.
Azhar, 51, is Sungai Besar Amanah Chairman, managing director of EZ Qurban Sdn Bhd and son of a Barisan Nasional member, Datuk Abdul Shukur Siraj.
Among those present during the announcement were DAP Advisor Lim Kit Siang, PKR President Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and PKR Secretary-General Rafizi Ramli.

The Sungai Besar by-election is scheduled to take place on June 18. Nomination day is June 5.
Following the announcement, the by-election is expected to see a three-cornered fight between Budiman Mohd Zohdi of Barisan Nasional and Dr Abdul Rani Osman of PAS.
