Azmin Ali sworn-in as 15th Selangor MB

Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman, Mohamed Azmin Ali was officially sworn-in as the 15th Selangor Menteri Besar at approximately 10.0am today, replacing Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
Mohamed Azmin, 50, undertook his oath in front of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at Balairong Seni, Istana Alam Shah in Klang.
The new MB read out 10 oaths -- upholding the Rukun Negara; preserve and protect the sanctity of Islam and respect the rights of other religions; preserve the sovereignty of the Royal institution; obey all instructions and rulings by DYMM Sultan Selangor; protect the special position of the Malays; perform the task with high integrity; must always put the rakyat first; ensure stability, prosperity and security of the state; preserve position held from unlawful matter; and ensure national unity.
Yesterday, it was announced that the Selangor Sultan had consented to the appointment of Mohamed Azmin Ali, who is also Parti Keadilan Rakyat deputy president, as the new Selangor leader.
This was announced in the appointment notice from the Selangor Sultan's private secretary, Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani to Mohamed Azmin.
Mohamed Azmin's predecessor Abdul Khalid had helmed the Selangor state government for six years since 2008.
