Bersatu regrets political situation in Perak - Hamzah Zainuddin

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has expressed regret over the situation that occurred in the Perak State Assembly (DUN) earlier today.
"The Political Bureau of Bersatu in its meeting this afternoon expressed its deep regret over what happened in the Perak State Legislative Assembly today.
"Bersatu takes note of the motion of confidence in the Perak Menteri Besar has been rejected by UMNO and Pakatan Harapan," said Bersatu Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin in a brief media statement on Friday.
Hamzah added Bersatu has always adhered to the principles of understanding and cooperation formed between the parties of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government since the beginning of this year for the well-being of the people and the prosperity of the country.
"In this regard, Bersatu would like to express its highest appreciation to 4 Bersatu ADUNs, 3 PAS ADUNs, 1 UMNO ADUN and 2 Independent ADUNs who have supported the motion of confidence in the Menteri Besar of Perak.
"Bersatu will monitor the current situation and will continue to work with PAS and other partners of Perikatan Nasional in making further decisions," he added.
Earlier, the Chenderiang ADUN who is also Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu failed to get the support of the majority in the motion of confidence in him in the State Legislative Assembly on Friday morning, with 48 rejecting while 10 other ADUNs supported and one vote abstained.
