KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has decided to sack Titi Serong State Assemblyman, Hasnul Zulkarnain Abd Munaim.
According to Sinar Harian, the matter was confirmed by Perak Bersatu Secretary, Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharudin when contacted today.
Hasnul, who is now an independent assemblyman, was sacked from the party after the state assembly session on December 4 last year which saw Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu resigning as Menteri Besar after failing to gain confidence.
The dismissal was also understood to be due to his actions in supporting Perak UMNO chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad as Perak Menteri Besar.
According to Zainol Fadzi, the matter is clear based on the statement of the Bersatu Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin in a previous media report.
However, Hasnul informed that he did not receive any letter on the matter of dismissal and only found out about it from media reports.
He, however, accepted the decision and did not intend to make any appeal or join any party at this time.
