Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU) Terengganu has urged Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to take a break from contesting as prime minister.
Bersatu Terengganu head Datuk Razali Idris said the two political leaders should give Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin a chance to lead the country.
He said it was not the first time that Dr Mahathir and Anwar had been at loggerheads for the position, in fact it has been never settled between them.
"Both (need) to rest and give Tan Sri Muhyiddin a chance ... we should not try to destroy the foundation that has been laid.
"The people have given full confidence (to Muhyiddin) who has proven his mettle in resolving the COVID-19 issue (by managing the pandemic well)," he said after presenting a contribution from Central Terengganu Development Authority (Ketengah) to Tasik Kenyir tourism operators on Sunday.
He was commenting on the issue of PKR rejecting a proposal for Dr Mahathir to be a prime ministerial candidate for Pakatan Harapan (PH), instead nominating Anwar to be prime minister if the coalition succeeded in forming the government.
