KUALA TERENGGANU: Barisan Nasional (BN) Terengganu akur dan menghormati keputusan rakyat dalam Pilihan Raya Negeri (PRN) Terengganu dan Pilihan Raya Kecil (PRK) Kuala Terengganu yang berlangsung pada Sabtu.
Pengerusi BN Terengganu, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said berkata, kekalahan dialami itu disifatkan sebagai lumrah dalam setiap pertandingan.
"Saya mewakili Barisan Nasional Terengganu menerima dan menghormati keputusan rakyat dalam PRN Terengganu semalam (Sabtu). Adat bertanding ada pihak kalah dan ada yang menang.
"Penghargaan dan jutaan terima kasih kepada seluruh jentera dan petugas Barisan Nasional yang memberikan komitmen yang tinggi tanpa mengenal penat dan lelah untuk membantu kempen sepanjang PRN berlangsung," katanya dalam hantaran di laman Facebooknya pada Ahad.
Dalam pada itu, Ahmad turut merakam penghargaan terhadap kerja keras jentera parti yang bertungkus lumus bagi memastikan kemenangan parti itu.
"Saya juga ingin mengucapkan terima kasih juga kepada penyokong dan pengundi DUN Kijal yang telah mengundi saya serta semua pengundi yang mengundi calon Barisan Nasional di negeri ini.
"Sesungguhnya UMNO dan BN berbesar hati akan terus subur untuk menabur bakti khusus kepada ahli dan masyarakat negeri Terengganu Darul Iman ini.
"Tidak lupa penghargaan kepada SPR (Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya), PDRM (Polis Diraja Malaysia), Rela (Jabatan Sukarelawan Malaysia) dan semua yang terlibat dalam membantu proses pengundian berjalan dengan lancar," tulisnya.
PRN Sabtu lalu menyaksikan beberapa kejutan besar berlaku setelah Ahmad yang bertanding di kerusi Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Kijal tewas kepada Ketua Penerangan Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), Datuk Razali Idris dengan majoriti 3,758 undi.
Razali yang merupakan muka baharu yang bertanding atas tiket Pas mengalahkan Ahmad dengan memperoleh 13,403 undi.
Keputusan rasmi pilihan raya itu menunjukkan Pas Terengganu menyapu bersih 32 kerusi DUN dan satu kerusi Parlimen di negeri tersebut. - Sinar Harian
