BN will not contest for Chempaka state seat by-election - Najib

Barisan Nasional has confirmed its stand not to contest for the Chempaka state seat by-election scheduled to be held on March 22.
This was said by UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak during the party’s Supreme Council meeting held tonight.
Earlier, Election Commission chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof has set the nomination date on March 10 while early votes will be held on March 18.
The Chempaka seat fell vacant following the death of its incumbent, Allahyarham Datuk Seri Nik Aziz Nik Mat.
Allahyarham Datuk Seri Nik Aziz Nik Mat who is also the former menteri besar of Kelantan beat UMNO candidate, Wan Razman Wan Abd Razak ith a majority of 6,500 votes.
