Former Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin urged the UMNO's Disciplinary Board to reveal the details of his apparent breach of party rules.
"I deserve to know the basis of the allegations thrown against me as well as given the chance to defend myself before any decision is made," said Muhyiddin.
He added that the statement made by UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor is odd as he was never informed of the breach made to party rules by the Board.
"There is also no show cause letter given or any order for me to defend myself against the allegations made," said Muhyiddin in a Facebook posting.
He also said Tengku Adnan's statement gave the impression that the process was done without following the proper procedures in accordance with the party rules.
"This is directly against a provision within the UMNO constitution," added Muhyiddin.
On Feb 26, UMNO suspended Muhyiddin from his deputy president post with immediate effect until the next party elections in 2018.
The decision cannot be challenged in court, Tengku Adnan had said, adding that this is stated under Section 18C of the Societies Act 1966.
