Bukit Lada rep wins case against Kedah BN executive secretary

Bukit Lada Assemblyman Datuk Ahmad Lebai Sudin today won his defamation suit against Kedah Barisan Nasional (BN) executive secretary Datuk Ariffin Man.
Judicial Commissioner Abu Bakar Katar ordered the defendant to pay general damages of RM100,000 and issue a public apology to the plaintiff.
The defendant was also ordered to pay RM50,000 in aggravated damages to the plaintiff.
Ahmad Lebai sued Ariffin for the latter's statement in a speech at a meeting at Dewan Seri Tanjung, Pokok Sena on Sept 28, 2013, which he claimed was malicious and ill-intended to disparage him.
