Barisan Nasional (BN) must intensify its campaign in an effort to recapture the Teluk Intan parliamentary seat from the opposition in the by-election on Saturday.
Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir said the BN machinery must work hard to win the hearts of the voters before Friday to ensure the party is victorious.
"We have to approach the people directly and not in a major gathering or feast which we find to be ineffective," he told reporters after a casual meeting with residents in Jalan Padang Tembak here, Tuesday.
"We try as much as possible to solve the problems faced by the people. I hope that they can see that BN is the best choice."
Mukhriz said campaigning house-to-house impacted positively and became the strength of BN in reaping the support of the voters.
The Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election is a straight fight between BN candidate Datuk Mah Siew Keong and DAP candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud.
