DAP will hold an emergency meeting tomorrow to discuss the Registrar of Societies (RoS) order for a re-election of the party's Central Executive Committtee (CEC).
DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said the meeting will be held at the party's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
Guan Eng who was shocked by the decision said the party must go through the details of the RoS letter before making any decision on the matter.
However, he said the party has not received any letter from the RoS so far. He said a decision will be made after the CEC meeting tomorrow.
He said the RoS's decision was shocking as it was made after four years.
"Before I comment further, I think we have to study the details of the letter and we will have a n emergency meeting tomorrow in Kuala Lumpur. After the meeting a press conference will be held," he told reporters.
The RoS earlier today in a statement said it will issue instructions to the DAP to hold a new re-election of the CEC to select 20 eligible members.
RoS director general Datuk Mohammad Razin Abdullah said the RoS considers the DAP as a legitimate party and so far does not have intentions to de-register it.
In 2013 the RoS had ordered a re-election of DAP’s CEC after it found irregularities and manipulation of votes in its December 2012 election.
A re-election was carried out in September 2013 but there were claims by some party members that they were denied the right to attend as delegates.
