Chandra Mohan, Muhammad Nur Manuty appointed senators to represent Selangor

Former Selangor DAP deputy chairman T. Chandra Mohan and former president of Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM), Assoc Prof Dr Muhammad Nur Manuty have been appointed as members of the Senate (Dewan Negara) for Selangor for the next three years.
The announcement was made by Selangor State Legislative Assembly Speaker Hannah Yeoh after the nominations of the two men received the support of 38 assemblymen on the last day of the assembly sitting, Friday.
Chandra Mohan was re-appointed as senator while Muhammad Nur Manuty was appointed to replace former Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president, Dr Syed Husin Ali.
The appointments were made as the tenure of Dewan Negara representatives from Selangor will end on Dec 6.
