The last day of the (N23) Chini state assembly seat by-election campaign saw the presence of Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali to help in the campaigning.
Mohamed Azmin was present at Pekan Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's campaign program in Kampung Tasik Mentiga on Friday.
The Senior Minister (International Trade and Industry) was also seen having breakfast with the former prime minister.
This was the first time Mohamed Azmin and Najib were seen having breakfast together despite having been rivals in the last general election.
"What's the problem? The food is delicious,” he quipped.
"With him (Najib) as the Pekan Member of Parliament, of course I took the opportunity to seek information about the current situation in Chini and Pekan.
"He has informed us that some developments here seem to be good enough for the Barisan Nasional candidate," Mohamed Azmin said when asked by reporters, adding that his presence was to express support for the BN candidate.
"The people are happy and I am here to represent our colleagues at the Federal level to provide moral support to the BN candidate," he added.
Mohamed Azmin said the spirit of the Perikatan Nasional was translated through strong support for the BN candidate Mohd Sharim Md Zain.
"The Barisan Nasional is a member of the Perikatan Nasional and of course the spirit of the Perikatan Nasional should be translated into action, including assisting the BN candidate in the Chini by-election.
"This is our spirit and we are committed to the Perikatan Nasional where we place the interests of the country and the people above personal or group interests," Mohamed Azmin said.
In fact, he said, the Perikatan Nasional was seen to be well received by the people and would continue to bring prosperity to all in the country.
