Syarul Ema Rena Abu Samah, who is also known as ‘Ratu Naga’ on Facebook, today swore that she does not know freelance programmer Azharuddin Othman.
According to Malaysiakini, Syarul Ema Rena took the religious oath while holding up the Al-Quran.
“I do not know him. I have never communicated with him. If I am lying then I will be cursed,” she said in a press conference as quoted by Malaysiakini.
The report also said that Syarul Ema Rena, who has been accused of buying personal information of people from Azharuddin to achieve the target of gathering more than 1 million signatures, labeled the whole incident as “stupid political psywar”.
On Thursday, Azharuddin alleged that personal information of more than one million individuals from a database, have been used to sign the Citizens’ Declaration forms.
In a statutory declaration, Azharuddin admitted to providing the data to one Syarul Ema Rena after he was promised RM5,000 for the information.
Azharuddin alleged, after everything was completed, he was only paid RM1,000 and up to now he has not received the promised balance of payments.
According to him, he had used a database containing election voter information which was shared among his group members.
Azharuddin who hails from Terengganu said he knew Syarul Ema Rena through a friend but has never met her in person and they only communicated via WhatsApp.
On May 13, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the Save Malaysia Citizens' Declaration has met its target of gathering 1.2 million signatures in just two months, even though it had given itself a year-end deadline.
