PAS today reaffirmed their intention to implement the Hudud law because it is part of the struggle and policies of the party.
The party’s secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali said DAP cannot force PAS to discount the long-time policy.
He said PAS wants to implement the law in Kelantan it is a Muslim claim .
"DAP cannot force PAS to oppose God, this is God’s command, Allah’s command and we want to carry out Allah’s command.
“The decision to be made on Dec 29 will be referred to the Kelantan government and Federal government technical committee.
“It will be done through a democratic process, not directly implemented and needs to be tabled in Parliament before PAS can implement it in Kelantan.
“If in the discussion, this amendment is rejected , we will accept, if Allah asks us to answer tomorrow, this is what we can do in the democratic process," he said, when contacted by Astro AWANI .
Mustafa also advised DAP leaders to avoid reacting hastily on the issue of amendments of the Syariah Criminal Code Enactment II 1993 on Dec 29.
Commenting on the insistence of DAP’s Gobind Singh Deo who wants PAS out from Pakatan Rakyat if the party wants to implement hudud , Mustafa said that any party in the coalition cannot be eliminated.
He said Pakatan Rakyat is a loose coalition and no party can eliminate any other party.
However, he said any party in Pakatan Rakyat can decide to remove itself from the coalition if it feels it cant cooperate with the coalition.
