The DAP said its Central Executive Committee (CEC) will continue to make efforts to meet with the Registrar of Societies (RoS) to secure a clarification meeting to discuss the way forward on the CEC re-election issue.

Its secretary-general, Lim Guan Eng, said there were several options available to DAP, including holding the re-election "under protest" as well as mounting a legal challenge against the decision of the RoS.

"We hope ... the registrar can meet us soon," he said at a press conference after a CEC meeting here.

The RoS, in a statement on July 7, said that it had no intention of de-registering DAP but ordered the party to hold fresh elections for its CEC members.

Following complaints from DAP members, ROS had deemed that the re-election in 2013 was not carried out based on the list of delegates authorised to attend and vote in earlier polls held on Dec 15, 2012.
