In a statement, Selangor DAP chairman Tony Pua said following Najib's repeated
"This is the perfect opportunity for Najib to explain how he received and spent his RM2.6 billion donation to the crowd.
"I am certain that they look forward to greeting the Prime Minister with all the necessary decorum and provide him every opportunity to explain his case," said Pua in the statement.
He also denied DAP had ever blocked any political funding reforms proposed by Najib in 2009.
The issue of political funding received spotlight following the declaration by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) that the RM2.6 billion in Najib's personal bank account is a donation for Umno.
Since then, Najib was reported to have said that he was willing to reveal Umno's finances if DAP will follow suit.
On Monday, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Paul Low Seng Kuan said there is a need for political financing to be monitored.
According to him, this must be done to prevent the political party being influenced by those who funded them if they came to power.
