PAS is not ruling out the possibility that DAP and PKR may not give up the seats which they are contesting in to Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) in the coming general election.
PAS vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said, theoretically, this would happen and Amanah would then contest for PAS seats.
"Theoretically, where is Amanah going to contest? I don't think that DAP will give up their seats, PKR too will not give up their seats (to Amanah). So, eventually Amanah will contest for PAS seats," he told reporters after attending the Himpunan Istiqamah programme at Rantau Panjang PAS headquarters here Saturday.
Prior to this, PAS was reported to have refused to join the Pakatan Harapan pact established by DAP, PKR and Amanah, but still maintained its relationship with PKR in Pakatan Rakyat.
In that respect, he reiterated that claims of Amanah being set up to help the opposition topple Barisan Nasional (BN) were untrue.
"If Amanah were to contest in Kelantan, we do not know how many votes they will win... in theory, BN will have a big chance of winning.
"That is the reason why I feel Amanah's statement in saying that they want to assist the Pakatan pact to topple BN is not right, if they stand to contest against us," he said.
When asked on seat allocation with its PKR ally, Mohd Amar, who is also Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar, said there were no changes so far.
"For now, the seats remain the same, like here in Kelantan, we will stick to the existing arrangements, no changes yet," he said.
