Do not gamble away future by choosing wrong govt - Kayveas
KAYVEAS: BN was a stable coalition which fought for the people, and ensured prosperity and harmony. -Filepix
The people should not gamble away their future by voting in the wrong government in the coming 14th General Election (GE), says MyPPP president Tan Sri M. Kayveas.
He said the 'hung parliament' situation in Britain which resulted in the Conservative Party led by Theresa May losing its majority in Parliament, should serve as an example to the people of Malaysia when selecting the government in the coming GE.
Stressing that only the Barisan Nasional (BN) could provide continuous stability in the country, he said BN was a stable coalition which fought for the people, and ensured prosperity and harmony.
Kayveas claimed that opposition parties did not fight for the people, had no principles and only set up new parties for their own interests.
"...they (opposition parties) fight among themselves as to who should be the prime minister, even that is unresolved," he told Bernama after chairing the MyPPP's third annual general meeting at the Lembah Pantai division here Saturday.
Kayveas said through the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Malaysia had achieved much during the last five years.
"The transformation of the country is enormous, the speed of the transformation taking place is the fastest if you compare with any other developing country.
"The people should continuously benefit from this. So, they have to give a strong mandate to the leader, that means just voting the BN is not enough. We need a good 2/3 majority in order to bring more changes and to see the country in a different level, and move towards the National Transformation 2050 (TN50)," he said.
The meeting was followed by a breaking-of-fast with the people of Lembah Pantai.
Also present was Lembah Pantai UMNO division head, Datuk Seri Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin.
