UMNO Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said grassroot party members should not shy away from expressing their views to their leaders.
"Don't be afraid to use the delegates' meeting as a stage to say what you want. It is not that you want to fault anyone or because you don't support the party but because you want to state the facts.
"We must convey the voices of the people to the party and our leaders. If we shut our mouth and remain dumb, if we simply act as though we don't have any problem, then we are under an illusion," he said.
Khairy said this while opening the Lumut UMNO Wanita, Pemuda and Puteri delegates' meetings 2015 at Dewan Majlis Perbandaran Manjung last night.
Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, Perak UMNO Youth chief Hairul Anwar Mohamed Noor and Human Resource, Youth and Sports exco chairman Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya.
Khairy who is also Youth and Sports Minister, said party members must also be sensitive to the grouses and needs of the people to regain whatever trust that had been lost.
He stressed that UMNO must win in the election, "on the undivided support of the people and not because of the opposition's weakness".
"If we bank on the weakness of the enemy, then the win would not be genuine. Real victory is when it is because of our strength and that people see us as the stronger party," he said.
