Don't allow anyone to check IC except EC, Police - Teluk Intan voters reminded

Perak police chief, Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.
Voters in the Teluk Intan parliamentary seat by-election are reminded not to hand over their identity card to be checked by anyone other than the Election Commission (EC) officers or the police for polling today.
Perak police chief, Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said this was because nobody was allowed to ask for or force any voter to hand over his or her identity card to be checked for voter information.
"On polling day, only the police or authorities and the EC can do so for the voting process," he told reporters at the Police Tactical Headquarters for the Teluk Intan by-election, Friday.
He asked supporters and party workers not to open "hot booths" to check the voter registry as only the SPR was allowed to do so.
"All party supporters have to obey the election regulations so as to ensure public order. Police will ensure that all regulations are observed at all times," he said.
He said police believed the EC had stationed more than enough staff to ensure the voting process would be smooth.
Meanwhile, the weather in the Teluk Intan area on Saturday has been predicted to be good, with no rain in the morning.
However, according to the Meteorological Department website, rain is expected in the afternoon.
The temperature in Teluk Intan has been forecast to be between 24 and 33 degrees Celsius.
