Dr Roland Chia of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has announced today to continue as the state assemblyman for Inanam.
In a statement here, Dr Chia, 44, said he made the decision after consulting family members, friends and supporters.
"In addition, I have remained in close communication with Ketua Umum Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, President of PKR, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah and also Deputy President of PKR Mohd Azmin Ali, who is also the Menteri Besar of Selangor, and grass roots members, discussing the matters concerning my health and well being.
"The response from all quarters have been very understanding and positive.
They have exhorted me to hang on and to soldier on to continue as the Elected Representative (State Assemblyman/ ADUN) of N13 Inanam.
"During my time of solitude, I had the opportunity to consider the various inputs and suggestions from all quarters.
"Hence, I have decided to continue my duties as the PKR and Pakatan Rakyat State Assemblyman of N13 Inanam, Sabah. I will try my utmost best to meet the expectations of my people in Inanam whilst beseeching their forebearance," he said.
