Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman has refused comments on claims that his 'Datuk Seri' title had been revoked by the palace.

At the launch of Wakaf Senusantara Conference 2016 this morning, he was seen rushing towards his official vehicle right after the event ended at a hotel here, without addressing the media who were present.

Journalists tried to catch up to him before he left but to no avail.

At the event, it was noted that his 'Datuk Seri' title was not used by the emcee; Ahmad Razif was merely addressed as "Yang Amat Berhormat Menteri Besar".

There has yet to be an official statement from any party on this matter to date.

Yesterday, social media went abuzz that due to a "crisis in the State", the palace had revoked all of Ahmad Razif's honorary titles after he had apparently "offended the Sultan" on Friday afternoon.

It was also said that Ahmad Razif, who is Seberang Takir assemblyman, might be the shortest-serving Menteri Besar in the state, just shy of two years.

The 51-year-old assumed office on May 13, 2014.

Ahmad Razif was awarded the Seri Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (SSMZ) which carries the title Datuk Seri in conjunction with the sultan's 53rd birthday on April 24, 2015.
