By-election: Mastura can vote, says Perak Mufti
Mastura had earlier said she will comply with whatever decision made by religious experts on the matter of her going out to vote.
Mastura Mohd Yazid can carry out her responsibility as a voter during the Kuala Kangsar by-election on June 18, said Perak Mufti Tan Sri Dr Harussani Zakaria.
However, Harussani said the Barisan Nasional candidate should adhere to the necessary customs as well as the appropriate dress code.
"Mastura can come out to vote to fulfill her responsibility," he told Bernama here, Saturday.
Mastura, 55, in a press conference at her residence said she would refer to religious experts before deciding whether to go to the polling station in SK Raja Perempuan Muzwin on polling day.
The Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election is to be held following the death of Mastura's husband, Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad, who was killed in a helicopter crash in Sebuyau, Sarawak, on May 5.
The contest will see a four-cornered fight between BN, PAS, Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), and an independent candidate.
