Former state assemblyman for Perupok, Datuk Omar Mohamed, 69, passed away believed from a heart attack at the KPJ Perdana Specialist hospital in Kota Baharu on Saturday.
His son, Khairuddin, 49, said his father was admitted to the hospital Friday night after complaining of not feeling well upon being informed of the death of his close friend Idris Ahmad the same day. Idris was former Tawang state assemblyman.
Omar, who was also former Kelantan State Assembly Speaker (1990-1995), became Perupok state assemblyman from 1986 to 2013 and was state executive councillor from 1995-2004.
