The Perak state exco is yet to have an audience with Sultan Nazrin, the Sultan of Perak with regards to the current political situation.

As such, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu remains as Chief Minister, said Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin.

“(He has) not been summoned to the palace, as of now. Not in my knowledge,” the State Exco of Investment, Industry and Regional Development told reporters at his office in Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan on Monday.

Nizar said it is business as usual for him: “My things are still in the office. I have yet to pack up,” he says.

Meanwhile, Nizar said he is still ‘optimistic’ as the exco hasn’t received an official decree from the Ruler for any changes in Government at the state level.

“My programmes are still as per scheduled. In the afternoon, I have a meeting with an investor.”

Administration changes at the Federal level has not affected Perak, he said, as a matter-of-factly.

“If the Chief Minister resigns, the DUN will be dissolved and a Caretaker will be appointed. But that has not happened. The Perak government is still under Pakatan Harapan, our Chief Minister is still Ahmad Faizal.”

“He (Ahmad Faizal) is still with PH. He did not make any statement about leaving PH,” he emphasises, when asked to comment about Ahmad Faizal who was seen at the residence of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the Sheraton Hotel, last week.

“Having dinner at Sheraton. That is not a problem. You (reporters) can also join me,” he said.
