PAS is aiming to contest for 80 parliamentary seats in the 14th general election (GE14) and has not ruled out the possibility of going for seats traditionally contested by DAP and PKR.
PAS vice-president, Idris Ahmad said the figure and new areas have not been finalised as the details were still being worked out by the party's election machinery.
He said the Federal Territories PAS Youth were targeting nine parliamentary seats in the Federal Territories namely Titiwangsa, Putrajaya, Labuan, Bandar Tun Razak and Wangsa Maju.
"The others are Setiawangsa, Lembah Pantai, Batu and Segambut," he told reporters after opening the Federal Territories PAS Youth Annual Assembly here today.
Also present were Federal Territories PAS commissioner, Mohd Nor Mohamad and Federal Territories PAS Youth chief, Khairil Nizam Khirudin.
According to Idris, PAS was most likely going to take on Segambut and Batu parliamentary seats in GE14.
In GE13, PAS only managed to win 21 of the 73 parliamentary seats and of the 237 state seats contested, PAS won 85 seats.
In another development, Idris criticised the attitude of DAP and Amanah political leaders who understood the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (Act 355) but opposed and viewed it negatively.
"This law does not involve non-Muslims just like the obligation to fast only affects Muslims during Ramadan. PAS presented RUU355 based on facts and we are confident we have cleared all doubts.
"The inaccurate views make it look bad on PAS and we are labelled as Talibans," he said.
