The General Election (GE) is the best way to form a new government to replace the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government, said Gua Musang Member of Parliament, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.

He, who is more commonly known as Ku Li, described PN at this time as still unstable and weak.

At the same time, the former finance minister considered the country's current political position as extremely unstable.

It, he said, had also affected the entry of investors, economic activity and social order.

"I think it is good that we hand over the mandate to the people because the current government is not very strong, unstable, still weak.”

"We want to attract, at least, the investors to come here because unemployment is rising.

"Currently there are almost a million people who are unemployed. The projection, in early October, is that the number will probably increase to more than 2 million.

"So, do we want to wait for everything to get worse before we have an election? That is the big question," he said when met by reporters after visiting the Razaleigh Mosque modelled by the Grand Mosque here on Thursday.

The mosque, which cost more than RM30 million, was scheduled to be opened to the public on Hari Raya Aidiladha but had to be postponed following the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the country.
