HUANG: Out of the six key points DAP indentified in their manifesto, five of them are in PCM's.
Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) vice-president Datuk Huan Cheng Guan claimed that his manifesto has been duplicated by DAP candidate for the Bukit Gelugor by-election Ramkarpal Singh Deo.
He said out of the six key points identified by DAP, five were in the PCM manifesto themed "Bersama Kita Majukan Pulau Pinang Ke Hadapan" (Together We Move Forward With Penang) which was announced on Wednesday.
Huan, who is PCM candidate in the by-election, also questioned why the DAP manifesto did not include their stand against hudud.
"About 60 percent of the DAP manifesto is similar to mine and I believe they have copied it as they only announced it three days before polling on Sunday," he told reporters at his operations centre in Air Itam here today.
He said among the points that were similar to the PCM manifesto were traffic improvement, building of recreational areas, upgrading the wet market, and on housing and the environment.
"All issues have been played up by DAP such as the missing MH370 and GST (Goods and Services Tax), but why is it they never speak even a word on hudud?" he added.
However, Huan denied having called Ramkarpal Singh a gay, saying it was spun by DAP in order to garner votes on Sunday.
"I never called him a gay, the media also never called him that, but it was their tactic to spin the issue in the social media to achieve their goal," he said.
He also urged those contesting in the by-election to behave and contest in a civil manner after two of his billboards were found splashed with red paint this morning.
"We should contest in a civil manner. What is the point of damaging each other's campaign material? If they like my billboard or banner so much, I could sent it to them after the by-election if they could give me their address," he said.
The Bukit Gelugor by-election was called following the death of its DAP MP Karpal Singh, in a road crash on April 17.
There will be a four-cornered fight for the seat, involving Huan, Ramkarpal and two independent candidates, Abu Backer Sidek Mohammad Zan and Mohamed Nabi Bux Mohd Nabi Abdul Sathar.
