PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa admitted to be in dilemma with the decision by several party's branches in nominating him for the president's post at the coming party election.
He said he was still undecided whether or not to go ahead with the nomination by contesting the post.
"Indeed, I am in dilemma. This is the time for members to voice out their feeling. As a leader, I cannot act on my personal capacity," he told reporters after opening the Segamat PAS general meeting here today.
The division had nominated Husam for the party's presidential post and incumbent Mohamad Sabu for the deputy president's post.
It also nominated Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, Idris Ahmad and Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof for the three vice-president posts.
Husam said he would wait for all the divisions to hold their meetings first before deciding on the matter.
"It is not necessary that I make the decision now. I don't even know how many nominations I have received. I never have any political plans," he said.
In another development, Husam declined comment on a statement by Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, who allegedly said that PAS' spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat's last wish before he died was for party members to have good relations with UMNO.
Mohd Amar was reported to have said that the late Kelantan menteri besar wanted him and party members to not criticise UMNO as they would have to deal with UMNO for, among others, on the implementation of hudud in Kelantan.
