UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has denied any knowledge of the seven UMNO leaders who are being monitored by the party.
However, he stressed that such a matter was normal in the party.
“It is normal. What was announced by the secretary-general will be carried out through party internal channel. I don’t know who they are,” he told reporters after launching the Malaysia United Run, today.
Hishammuddin who is also the Defence Minister was commenting on UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor who said that seven UMNO leaders are being monitored.
Yesterday Tengku Adnan had said the seven also face the possibility of disciplinary action taken against them.
He did not reveal who the leaders were or why they are being monitored.
