'I need another 5 years as CM' - Adenan
In less than two years as chief minister, Adenan says he had made 43 major policy decisions that were beneficial to the people, including reducing electricity tariffs for domestic and commercial and industrial consumers.
Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem has again appealed to Sarawak voters to give him another five years to lead the state.
“I am now already 71 years old and in the next five years I will be 76 years old; cukup lah (that is enough) and I will retire because I don’t need to be chief minister for too long,” he said.
Adenan said he wanted another five years to enable him to "do more for Sarawak."
In less than two years as chief minister, he had made 43 major policy decisions that were beneficial to the people, including reducing electricity tariffs for domestic and commercial and industrial consumers, he said.
He had also abolished bridge tolls and standardised rates of ferries operated by the private sector in many river crossings in Sarawak to only RM1 per crossing for vehicles.
He said this at the Sarawak Bumiputra Entrepreneurs Awards Night here, last night.
Adenan replaced Sarawak's longest serving chief minister Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud (33 years) on Feb 28 last year.
