The Makkal Sakti Party is hoping that the proposal for a Tamil secondary school would be among measures to be approved and included in the Blueprint for the Indian Community that was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak recently.
Makkal Sakti president Datuk R.S. Thanenthiran hoped the proposal submitted in 2015 would mark the start for the betterment of the Indian community especially in education.
"With the implementation of this secondary school we will be able to strengthen the use of the Tamil language among the Indian community while reducing social problems.
"There will be more job opportunities for Indian teachers and socio-economic status of the community will be improved," he told reporters after handing over aid to an accident victim in a hospital here today.
He said the party had also allocated a 10-acre site in Sungai Siput, Perak for the construction of the Tamil secondary school should it be included in the Blue Print.
On March 31, Najib, while on a six-day official visit to India announced that he would launch a national blueprint for the Indian community next month.
