KAMALANATHAN: I have not decided yet. I'll get some advice from top leaders before making my decision. But I am definitely contesting.
MIC central working committee member and Education deputy minister P Kamalanathan has expressed his intention to contest in the party election next month.
However, he has yet to decide whether to go for the vice president's post or supreme council seat.
"I have not decided yet. I'll get some advice from top leaders before making my decision. But I am definitely contesting," he told the media after a special aid presentation to four Sekolah Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) in Kedah last night.
At the presentation, SJKT Ladang Sungai Raya received RM50,000; SJKT Ladang Buntar, RM30,000; SJKT Palanisamy Kumaran, RM70,000; and SJKT Ladang Wellesley, RM100,000.
Kamalanathan said the presentation was the first phase of an allocation from the Federal Government through the Education Ministry under the Special Plan Package 2013 to rehabilitate and upgrade Tamil schools.
"More than 150 schools have been identified for the aid which would be disbursed till the end of this month," he said.
