'Kawan' formula helps UMNO Youth to reach out to young voters

Pahang UMNO Youth is confident that the ‘Kawan’ (Befriend) formula it has been practicing over the past three years is capable of ensuring smooth running of its operations to ensure victory for UMNO and Barisan Nasional in the upcoming 14th general election.

Its chief, Shahar Abdullah, said the formula, which aimed at reaching out to the young voters, emphasized on three main aspects, namely befriending, sincerity and determination.

He said they had been practising the formula over the past three years by organising various programmes and activities to befriend the young people in the state and learn about their likes and dislikes.

“We adopt the formula with the aim to forge closer ties with the people at the grass roots, especially the youths,” he told reporters after the opening of Kuantan UMNO Youth Conference here Saturday.

He said Pahang UMNO Youth had also upheld the slogan of 'Pemuda Cakna' (UMNO Youth Cares), which was not only visible among members in the party, but also the general members of the public.

“To make the young people understand the principles of our struggles, UMNO Youth members should understand it first. When we understand our functions and roles in the society, our operation will run smoothly and we will be better understood by the people,” he added.
