The weekly state executive council (Exco) meeting of the Kedah government scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed.
This was confirmed by Mohd Fisol Jaafar, the Press Secretary of the Kedah Menteri Besar.
However, he declined to make any further comments as to why the meeting was postponed.
"Postponed," he said in a Whatsapp message tonight.
Last Wednesday, the Exco meeting was only attended by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir and three Exco members namely Datuk Aminuddin Omar, Datuk Suraya Yaacob and Datuk Norsabrina Mohd Noor.
The absence of six others is believed to be due to the political crisis in the state which involves the position of Mukhriz as menteri besar.
It is understood that the Exco meeting requires as a quorum of at least four members for it to be valid.
Kedah UMNO leaders led by Kedah UMNO deputy chief Datuk Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah have openly stated their loss in confidence in the leadership of Mukhriz as menteri besar and state UMNO head.
