The Kelantan UMNO Veterans today lodged a police report against the retired civil servants group G25 for suggesting the government to abolish the Islamic development Department (Jakim) and the law on khalwat (close proximity).
The report was lodged by its chairman, Datuk Rozali Isohak, at the Kota Baharu district police headquarters in Pengkalan Chepa here at 11am.
"The suggestion (by G25) is seen as an attempt to interfere in the federal government's administration and also to undermine the Islamic legal system and administration of Islam in the state which is under the Malay rulers," he told reporters here.
Rozali said the Kelantan UMNO veterans regarded the statement by G25 as serious and could affect the faith of Muslims.
