Khairuddin relieved of Batu Kawan UMNO division vice youth chief's post

UMNO Penang has received a copy of the dismissal letter of Datuk Khairuddin Abu Hassan from his post as Batu Kawan UMNO division vice-chairman from the UMNO supreme council.
State UMNO liaison secretary Datuk Musa Sheikh Fadzir said the dismissal was in accordance with the Constitution of UMNO and the UMNO conference regulations.
"It is also consistent with Article 9A (1) (d) of the Societies Act 1966 which states that an undischarge bankrupt can not hold any positions within the organization.
"He (Khairuddin) has been declared bankrupt by the court on May 24 last year and a report on the bankruptcy itself has been made to UMNO headquarters," he said in a statement here today.
However, Musa said Khairuddin remains a member of UMNO and can attend the annual assembly at the branch level where he became a member.
