KHAIRY: We have promised to give the insurance policy to all UMNO Youth division committee members last year. Today we fulfilled our promise.
History was made today when the UMNO Youth movement introduced an insurance policy which covered accidents and death benefits for all its division committee members nationwide.
UMNO Youth chief, Khairy Jamaluddin said, this new initiative was aimed at all division committee members.
Khairy added that for the start, the policy will only be given to all division committee members, however, UMNO Youth is working hard to ensure all branch committees will be provided the same benefit.
“We have promised to give the insurance policy to all UMNO Youth division committee members last year. Today we fulfilled our promise.
“We are working hard to extend this insurance policy which covers accidents and death to all UMNO Youth branch committee members in the future,” said Khairy during a luncheon held in Tun Razak Hall 2, Putra World Trade Center (PWTC).
The introduction of the insurance policy was well received by a total of 4,775 UMNO Youth division committee members nationwide.
In addition to the policy, Khairy also announced that a smartphone will be given to all UMNO Youth division chiefs.
He added that the smartphone will be pre-equipped with UChat, an application developed by a local young developer to help disseminate information to all.
“This smartphone is to facilitate the spread of information and we will use UChat, an application developed by a young local developer,” said Khairy.
Apart from the insurance policy and smartphone Khairy also announced an additional allocation of budget for each division and branch which has successfully increased its membership as well as providing a ‘war room’ for them.
“More members means additional funds will be given,” announced Khairy.
The additional initiatives will be issued beginning next year.
