Shah Alam member of Parliament Khalid Samad is the latest to be picked up by the police in connection to the #Kitalawan rallies.

PAS central committee member Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad in his Facebook said Khalid was arrested for illegal assembly.

“I was just informed by YB Khalid Samad that he has been arrested by the police at 3.20am at his house and is currently detained at IPD Dang Wangi under the Sedition Act,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

Meanwhile, Kuala CID chief SAC Zainuddin Ahmad who confirmed the arrest said Khalid was arrested under Section 143 of the Penal Code, Bernama reported.

Yesterday, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Tian Chua was re-arrested in connection to the #KitaLawan rally and brought to the Jinjang police station.

He was arrested after coming out from a town session with his Batu constituents.

On Friday, PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli was arrested at his service centre in Kuala Lumpur, under the Sedition Act 1948, in connection with the #KitaLawan rally.

Rafizi's detention was allegedly linked to rallying supporters to gather at the anti-government #KitaLawan rally scheduled to be held today.

Prior to this, Rafizi who is also PKR secretary-general was arrested under Sedition Act 1948 to assist in investigations over the #KitaLawan rally on March 7.
