Kuala Kangsar by-election: 'PAS is simply irrelevant' - Amanah candidate
'PAS is not an enemy, they just simply irrelevant' - Dr Ahmad Termizi
Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) candidate for the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election, Dr Ahmad Termizi Ramli said PAS is no longer relevant, adding that his fight is not against the Islamic party.
Ahmad Termizi said both the Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar by-election will see Amanah going up against Barisan Nasional (BN).
"We'll be going against BN, not PAS. There's no significance to compete against PAS. It's not our focus, we are here to defeat BN.
"To us, PAS is not an enemy, they're just simply irrelevant. Our focus is BN. BN have created a mess in the country, so they need to be given some rest.
"Both by-election is a two-sided contest," he said during a press conference today.
He also added that the the votes PAS received during the 13th General Election were people's support towards Pakatan Rakyat, and not just for the Islamic party.
He said this time, the by-elections will be the perfect opportunity to gain back the votes.
The Kuala Kangsar by-election is being held following the death of its MP Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad in a helicopter crash in Sarawak on May 5.
It is a four-cornered fight among BN, PAS, Parti Amanah Negara and an Independent.
The Kuala Kangsar constituency has 32,949 voters.
