Kuala Kangsar, Sungai Besar by-elections: PAS to name candidates on May 27

PAS will name its candidates for the Kuala Kangsar, Perak and Sungai Besar, Selangor by-elections on May 27, the party's vice-president Idris Ahmad said.
The announcement will be made at the respective parliamentary constituencies.
"We will announce the candidates on Friday and the location will be announced later," he said when met at the Parliament lobby today.
The Election Commission (EC) has set June 5 as nomination date while early voting is set on June 14.
Voting for the two by-elections is set on June 18.
The by-elections for Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar are being held following the death of their respective Members of Parliament namely Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad and Datuk Noriah Kasnon, who was also the Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, in a helicopter crash in Sebuyau, Sarawak on May 5.
Pakatan Harapan to date has not named which party or candidate will contest in the two seats.
However, Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) director of communications Khalid Abdul Samad said Mohamad Sabu is among the names of candidates representing the party in the Sungai Besar Parliamentary by-election.

He said the party's deputy president Salahuddin Ayub and former Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin were also among those listed as candidates for the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-elections.
