Mah, Ramkarpal sworn in as Parliamentary members

Datuk Mah Siew Keong and Ramkarpal Singh were sworn in as Parliamentary members at the Dewan Rakyat, today.
Both Parliamentary members took their oath in front of the Deputy Speaker Datuk Ronald Kiandee.
Mah who is also Gerakan president took his oath as the Teluk Intan Parliamentary member after winning the area's by-election on May 31 beating DAP candidate, Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud with a majority of 238 votes.
The Teluk Intan by-election was held following the death of its incumbent Seah Leong Peng who succumbed to cancer.
Ramkarpal meanwhile took his oath as the Bukit Gelugur Parliamentary member after beating Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) Deputy President, Datuk Huan Chung Guan and independent candidates, Mohd Nabi Bux Mohd Abdul Sathar and Abu Backer Sidek Mohammad Zan.
The Bukit Gelugor by-election was held following the death of its incumbent Karpal Singh who was also Ramkarpal’s father who died in a car crash.
The Dewan Rakyat also expressed its condolences and observed a minute of silence in respect to Seah and Karpal’s death.
It also observed a minute of silence in memory of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah.
The second Parliamentary meeting which took place today is scheduled to end on June 19.
