Mahdzir Khalid advises UMNO members to be wary of hate politics

UMNO members are today advised to be wary of hate politics being promoted by certain quarters.

UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said these quarters were "putting the blame on Malay leaders in the government as if we are not clever".

They sow the hatred subtly in their speeches, besides distributing articles, he added.

"They instigate the young people in the Chinese, Indian and Malay community that they see everything we do is wrong," he said when opening the Kuala Langat UMNO divisional delegates meeting here today.

Mahdzir said hate politics is dangerous as it could create rift among the people, as well as threaten peace and harmony in the country.

As such, he said UMNO members should unite to strengthen the party and continue the transformation agenda for the future generation.

"We have to rebuild the solidarity that existed when the country was in the process of achieving its independence. At that time, all the races were united," he added.
