Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said he would not issue any statement in regards to the Menteri Besar position until Aug 27.
"I've been communicating with the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah on the latest political developments in the state including the sentiments of the Selangor state assembly members.
"The Sultan had said that he is satisfied that I have the majority support of the assembly, during a meeting on Monday, Aug 11," said Abdul Khalid in a statement today.
He said, the Sultan has also ordered him not to make any decision or announcements regarding the MB post until the latter's return on Aug 27.
Abdul Khalid advised the parties who claimed he had misled the Sultan, to write directly to the Sultan for clarification.
Previously, 30 Selangor Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen declared their support for Kajang MP Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to be appointed as the new MB.
The move apparently marks the loss of a majority support for Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, who is also Port Klang assemblyman, to retain the post.
In a Facebook post, Abdul Khalid had said even if Wan Azizah claimed to have the support of the majority, it still needed to be translated through a vote of no-confidence at the Selangor state assembly.
On Aug 11, the Selangor Sultan had expressed his wish for Abdul Khalid to remain as Selangor MB.
Abdul Khalid made the announcement at a press conference on the same day, revealing the discussions in the meeting held earlier by the Council of the Royal Court to discuss his position as MB following his termination from PKR last Saturday.
