Melaka UMNO will focus on three main areas to prepare the state for the 14th General Election (GE-14).
Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said they are to mobilise the election machinery and to resolve internal problems immediately.
"The focus must be geared towards delivering the best service to the people so that they believe in UMNO's ability to rule the state.
"When this is done, only then can we contest with confident," he told reporters after opening the Tangga Batu UMNO branch, Wanita, Youth and Puteri meetings, here Sunday.
Idris, who is also Melaka UMNO liaison chairman and Tangga Batu UMNO division chief, said he was happy with the membership drive.
Melaka UMNO has managed to increase the new voters by 10 percent to make make a total of 437,000 voters. --Bernama
