MIC can do well in GE14 if there is change in leadership - Dr Subramaniam

MIC deputy president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam is confident that the party will be able to win at least two parliamentary and two state seats in Perak in the 14th General Election (GE14) if there is a change in the structure of the party's leadership and administration.

"This is part of our agenda in efforts to transform MIC and bring the party to greater heights, which is to win the two parliamentary seats of Sungai Siput and Tapah, and at least two more seats in the Perak state assembly," he told reporters after attending a gathering with party leaders and all MIC branch chairmen in the Ipoh Barat division here Saturday.

MIC contested two parliamentary seats in the last general election which featured the party's two vice-presidents - Datuk M.Saravanan, who won in Tapah, while Datuk SK Devamany failed to retake the Sungai Siput seat.

MIC also failed to wrest back all the state seats it contested during the election, namely Buntong, Jelapang and Hutan Melintang.
