MIC crisis: Najib to call upon Palanivel to provide explanation
Prime Minister
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will summon MIC President Datuk Seri G. Palanivel to explain his recent comments made at the Putra World Trade Centre, accusing the Prime Minister of agreeing to the party's re-election.
Najib in a posting made on Facebook today added that the MIC president should stop playing the blame game and has urged for him to abide by the decision made by the courts and Registrar of Societies (ROS).

In a rally held at the PWTC yesterday, it was reported that Palanivel had said that he remains the party president as he was legally appointed by the party's constitution.
He had also proposed for a fresh election from the branch level, right up to the presidential level to be held.
He however insisted that this was not the final decision as his appeal to overturn the decision of the Registrar of Societies (RoS) earlier, was still pending in court. READ ALSO; MIC seeks to have fresh election - Palanivel READ ALSO: I am still MIC president, says Palanivel
In a decision taken on June 15, the High Court had dismissed dismissed two judicial review applications by Palanivel and four others, challenging the Registrar of Societies' (RoS) fresh election directive.
Justice Datuk Asmabi Mohamad ruled that there was no reason for the court to interfere with RoS' decision as it was reasonable and rational pursuant to Section 16(1) and Section 18 (b)(1) of the Societies Act 1966.
